Painting Two- The Gas Tank Version one

Here is a watercolor sketch I did this morning at Castle Island.  What a glorious day it was!  This is what plein air painting in watercolor is all about.  This composition jumped out at me and I immediately liked the focal point, the subordinate lines leading to it, the pattern of light against dark, the values (total of 5, sometimes less, never more).  I intend to do this painting over in pastel  because I loved the interaction of the warm and cool shapes.  Please look for my paintings hanging in The Cranberry Cafe on Broadway.  Go in for a protein shake after a morning of painting.  I hope you are all taking advantage of this weather.  Get out there with the sketchbooks.  Please feel free to comment on or ask any questions about this painting.  By the way, I entitled it "Full of Gas".
