Painting Nine-SB Yacht Club
This is a different style of watercolor for me. I was afraid I was going to get rained out so I decided to draw with my rigger instead of a pencil as I normally do. I was quite pleased with the freedom this gave me. I felt like I was drawing and painting at the same time. It was lots of fun and even though I did get rained out I managed to capture the essence of the Yacht Club activity. I used the same 4 color pallette as the last painting - the primaries plus paynes gray. I like that choice too because even though it involves a bit more mixing to get the secondaries there is a built in color harmony that I like. This painting took one half hour from concept to the time I had to jump on my bike to escape the rain storm. Hope you like it.
