Painting Thirteen - Amrheins
The chain came off my bike today and I had to bring it to the shop. While walking back to my house I noticed the beautiful shape of Amrheins and since I was on my way to sketch anyway I decided to pull up my little stool and took a stab at it. I used a new technique today. I did a complete pen sketch using a fine point pen -0.5 uniball. Then I simply laid in some washes to remember the colors. This was done on lightweight watercolor paper in a sketchbook I had with me. I enjoyed doing this and hope to bang out another this afternoon. The pen is a fun tool to draw with as long as you don't get too tight and enjoy the wobbly lines you get as a result. I highly recommend it to anyone who has been struggling with leaving lines alone. The eraser is such a cursed thing. Don't be afraid to just doodle in a picture even if you have to use numerous lines to get one right. Blog to you again soon.
