Thumbnail Sketches 8/30/09

I want to share a page of sketches I did today.  My goal was to do twelve thumbnails (small, simple compositions using line, shape, detail, tone). I was able to do seven in two hours and then got tired so I went home for lunch and a nap.  I do like this method of sketching though.  Limiting the size of each sketch to no more than half the size of my hand allowed me to move quickly from subject to subject without investing too much time, effort and material while still benefitting greatly in terms of drawing and composition practice.  I plan on doing many more pages like this.
