Southie Architecture and a Yorkie

Southie Architecture and a Yorkie.jpgHere are two buildings that I have a great deal of interest in: The Dorchester monument and the Greek Orthodox church on East Broadway.  I went to the monument to see if I could capture a shot of Southie High that could possibly be of some use to DoDo and Edso as they prepare to invite people to our reunion this November.  They are welcome to use this for the invitation or thank you afterwards.  I enjoy the challenge of the pen sketching because it really slows me down.  It is hard to correct errors in scale or execution therefore I am careful in measuring and with perspective.  I love the tower on the Greek church.  I have wanted to sketch it for sometime but there always seems to be workers about and the noise really distracts me.  Today it was quiet.  I had some room left over on my sketchbook page so decided to use Bruno as my model again.  I have drawn him hundreds of times.  If you have a pet I recommend you take advantage of the free sitter.
