Maine in Winter

Here is a watercolor I did today using a photo I took several years ago in Maine.  My advice to anyone painting from photos is to make a drawing of the photo first with assigned values and good shapes.  Then using a limited palette, paint from the sketch not the photo.  Try to limit the number of strokes and washes and good luck.
