My Couch

How appropriate the day after Thanksgiving to pay homage to the couch.  It was here that I spent most of the day alongside my grandson Pat as we rested after a delicious Italian feast prepared by Denise.  Lovely dinner, great company, wonderful day.  Once again I used pencil line only to create the illusion of furniture in space.  Each time I do these types of drawings I am reminded of the adage measure twice, cut once.  It is very tempting to just eyeball it but if you do this I guarantee you will run into all sorts of trouble early on in the process.  You must establish a key measurement and then compare almost every line to this original measurement to assure things line up properly.  In this case I used the pillow on the left hand side of the couch.  It takes some work but there is no shortcut here.  The end result will look right only if careful observation is made.  I am happy I started this series but I am anxious to get out my paints again soon.
