Hooray for Hollywood

This sketch marks a breakthrough for me because it is the first time I ever used acrylic paint.  I also added some oil pastel for some finishing touches so it is officially a "mixed-media" piece.  The scene is from a beach on the boardwalk in Hollywood (FL) where my sister Kate once lived and where my brother Jack visited last week.  We spent a wonderful afternoon together walking around the town and exploring shops, bars and restaurants.  It was February 9th, my sister Patty's birthday and we called her together to sing "Happy Birthday."  Jack and his girlfriend Jackie have gone back to Boston now but I am going to send him this reminder of that day.
