Here is a 6 by 8 inch oil painting I did this morning.  I am hoping to create a half-dozen or so of these in time for my show at Avanti South on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 7-10 p.m.  Oil painting has always been a challenge for me, not because of the techniques required but because I am a bit of a neat freak and the messiness of oils is problematic.  I do however love the opportunity to edit parts of the painting that I don't like which you cannot easily do in watercolor. In fact, now that I have had a chance to look at this on line I will probably tone down some of the color in the water because I think it is competing too much with the sky which is, after all,  the focal point of the painting.
