Gate of Heaven Steeple

The next spot I chose to do was Gate of Heaven.  I was lucky to find a parking spot and when I did the only comfortable position I could find afforded me a very limited view of the church but an excellent one of the steeple.  I spent a pleasant half hour or so trying to capture the essence of the steeple without getting bogged down in the intricate details of the spire.  A friend came by and chatted with me for a while which is sometimes a welcome by-product of the sketching hobby. I love Gate of Heaven church and all the memories it holds for me and I was pleased when several friends expressed their appreciation for it when I posted it later that day in Facebook.  If you haven't done so already, please friend me on FB.  You can never have too many friends.
