Getting Ready to Sail
Tuesday, May 24, 2011
This was a quarter sheet plein air study of various boats at the Savin Hill Marina. I had a wonderful day painting these beautiful shapes and colors on a sunny day in June. It was the first painting I did outside since returning from Florida and it was worth the effort of lugging my easel and supplies to the site. This is what my heaven would be like except I would need a restroom nearby; and a snack bar wouldn't hurt either.
This sketch and a few others of mine are hanging in Sophia's Cafe on Dorchester St. near my home. It's a cool little coffee shop/bistro with healthy sandwiches, paninis, soups, home-made muffins and cookies, hip music and nice people. Even outdoor seating when weather permits. Please check it out and tell Sebastian I said hi.
