Low Key

This is another in the series of watercolors I did for my class. This time the horizon line is low but the building is high above eye level. This always presents a dramatic sense and I attempted to take advantage of that by creating a rescue scene. I just love to create paintings like this out of my imagination. I found out a long time ago that if you only paint what you see you won't paint much. Edgar Whitney used to say:"Tell me a beautiful lie." This painting is an example.
