Peace on Earth

I am teaching watercolor to a small group of students and since they are all interested in painting buildings I decided to do a series of buildings at different eye levels. This is an imaginary winter scene that started by the placement of buildings in the focal area. I varied the roof tops and position of the houses themselves while keeping a consistent eye level slightly above the mid-point of the paper. This is an H shape composition that I use quite a bit for scenes like this. The color scheme is a simple one. Burnt sienna and ultramarine, compliments which I nearly always use to capture the gray days of winter.
