Sketching Castle Island

This is a 6x8 oil that I worked on this morning.  I am practicing a new method of impressionist oil painting and just wanted to save this on my website.  I'm not happy with the result but did learn a great deal from the effort as always.  I like the pattern of light and dark but the figures are clumsy.  I will continue this method without figures.  In fact, after looking at this.  I am going to scrape these people out and just make it a fall scene of Castle Island.  Stay tuned.
