Thomas Park and Linden

Thomas-Park-and-Linden.jpg Monday, September 12, 2011

I was motivated to go out and sketch another street scene today because my dear friend Susan Ingram asked on Face book for another chance to guess which street I sketched.  She guessed G and 4th; wrong but close.

I love Thomas Park.  When I was in high school it was where I spent most of my time.  So now, whenever I have a chance to sketch the homes along this historic section of the city I do so.  I could literally draw and paint there for the rest of my life and never feel the need to go anywhere else.  There are beautiful homes, neat white fences, great trees, all sorts of chimneys, poles, cars, shadows, not to mention the monument across the street which I have happily painted dozens of times. In short, an artist's paradise. I am staying in Boston this winter and will certainly do some paintings of this neighborhood in snow.
